Presentation Proposals
Fanshawe College and Western University Lead On Committee invites students and professionals to submit presentation proposals for the upcoming NIRSA Canadian Region Ontario Student Lead On Conference, October 26-27, 2017. The committee is seeking a wide variety of topics that will complement our theme, “Learning today, Leading Tomorrow!!!”. All topics relevant to recreation students and professionals working in post-secondary recreation will be considered.
The Host Committee has identified 5 streams to assist with presentation development including:
- Student Staff Development
- Student Growth and Development
- Active Session
- Program Specific Sessions
- Professional Staff Sessions and Workshops
Please submit your proposal via HERE by September 30, 2017.
Program schedule, description and presenter bios will be posted here once finalized.

Volunteer Opportunities
The NIRSA Canadian Ontario Student Lead On Planning Committee is looking for enthusiastic and dependable volunteers to help us deliver a fantastic event on October 26-27, 2017. This annual conference draws a number of recreational student leaders and professionals from Post-secondary institutions from across Eastern Canada, as well as a few colleagues from Western Canada and the Northern United States. Those who attend this conference are engaged and passionate about various areas of campus life: student leadership, development, and personnel management; wellness and fitness programs; intramural sports; sport clubs; recreation facility operations; outdoor recreation; informal recreation; and aquatic programs.
Volunteers are required for numerous roles including:
- Welcome & check-in table attendants
- Educational session moderators
- Equipment & facility attendants
- Social event attendants

Students, staff and community are welcome to volunteer.
